Ugh.
Police were searching for up to three suspects Wednesday in connection with a deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, where up to 14 people were reported killed and as many as 14 more were wounded.
“The suspects have fled,” said San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan. “We don’t yet have a motive.”
At least one of the suspects was believed to be wearing tactical gear, the NBC affiliate KNBC reported.
“I know we do have some fatalities,” Lt. Richard Lawhead of the San Bernardino police told KNBC. “But I don’t know the numbers.”
Firefighters set up a triage area near the Inland Regional Center on the South Waterman Avenue, where they were treating the wounded on the street and loading others into waiting ambulances for treatment at nearby Loma Linda Medical Center.
The next politico who offers “prayers and thoughts for the victims” ought to be tarred and feathered and run out of public life. We either do something about the easy availability of guns in this country or we stop pretending we care who dies or what happens to our so-called civilization.
We’re having one mass shooting or more per week. The only ones who seem to benefit are the reporters running to catch a plane to the scene of the latest carnage, aroused by the prospect of fame and fortune.
Maybe we should do this in a more organized fashion. Schedule mass terror events for the benefit of reporters and cable outlets. “Tune in Wednesday at 3, when we bring you ‘Carnage in California.’ This week, we’re really hoping for a high body count - hopefully as many as 20. Brought to you by Nike - Just Do It.”
Trump says we’re not a country unless we have borders. I say if we can’t protect our people, what kind of country is that?
